Nick started karting in September 2005, and the following year finished 11th in Junior TKM Intermediate. He moved up to ICA in 2007 and seeded 15th, while in 2008 he was fourth in KF1 'O' plate and eighth overall in KF1 Championship.
At the end of ’08 he stepped up to car racing in the Formula Renault UK Winter Series and two season later finished seventh overall in the main championship.
In 2011 he contested two of the main feeder series to Formula 1: the FIA GP3 Series and Formula Renault 3.5, which he tackled again in 2012, finishing fifth overall.
